1940
During the exodus, took refuge in Bordeaux, then in Mayne à Salles with her parents. Returned to Paris after the armistice.
Participated in the Salon des Tuileries.
1941
Was appointed drawing teacher at the Ecole Primaire Supérieure de jeunes filles de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés.
Took part in the Salon des Tuileries and the Salon d’Automne.
At the Salon d’Automne … we notice on of Germaine Lacaze’s greatly promising composition throught its qualities of freshness, colours and construction.

1943
Participated in the group exhibition “Paysages de Paris” at the Notre Dame des Champs gallery. Participated in the Salon des Tuileries.

Was appointed drawing teacher at Paul Bert College in Paris. Participated in the Salon des Tuileries.
1945
From that year on, had regular exhibitions throughout her career at the Salon des Indépendants, Salon d’Automne. Participated in the Salon des Tuileries.
1946
Achieved a series of engravings on Paris, mainly the 5th district. Last participation in the Salon des Tuileries.
1947
The Lacaze family moved to 2 rue des Arènes, Paris Vème. First participation in the Salon de l’Union des Femmes Peintres et Sculpteurs.
1948
First trip to Italy.
A quiet strength springs off Lacaze’s still-lifes.
