At the Galerie des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, presentation of the 20th century collections, including Germaine Lacaze’s “Portrait of the artist’s mother”.

In a city where it has long been regretted that modern art does not find its place between the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Musée d’Art Contemporain, this exhibition finally allows us to shorten the history between the innovations of the beginning of the century and the 1950s and 60s.

A room devoted to figurative art features works by Valloton, Picasso, Dufy and Kokoschaka; an abstract room focuses on Gardair and Bissière, other painters from the region, as well as lesser-known names such as Germaine Lacaze and Roger Lambet Loubère, and more recent works such as those by Alenchinsky.
