Beautiful still life with, in the background, on a table set against a wall, a white Chinese pot containing a wilted tulip, golden yellow chrysanthemums and dark brown foliage, in front of a white plate containing bunches of black grapes, mirabelle plums and pear. Two more bunches of black grapes are placed on the table on either side of the plate. A purple cloth, under the plate, is positioned diagonally with a flap falling over the edge of the table in the foreground.

In a very flat (wall, table) and rectilinear environment (cut vase and table edge), the flowers and fruit provide informal or circular touches in two dominant colours : glowing bronze and black brown. Blue and white touches vertically and light and dark brown horizontally vibrate in a more muted way.

The superb autumnal colour palette chosen by the artist imposes itself and vibrates masterfully on the surfaces and volumes of the simple forms composing this still life.
