This superb painting brings together themes dear to the painter: the oval table with its warm colours, the sunny window, the naked woman, the bouquet of flowers and foliage, the atmosphere that is both soothing and sensual.

A hymn to life and light, the painting radiates warmth while remaining perfectly balanced in its composition and theme.

This painting was presented as a posthumous tribute to the artist by the Ecole de Moret at the Fontainebleau Biennial from 18 June to 3 July 1994.
