Maternity in the garden

Canvas of a family scene of a mother seen from the front sitting with her two children in a garden, one invisible in his cradle, the other, a little girl, seen from three-quarters back, positioned on the lower right part of the canvas, seated at the foot of the cradle. The two characters wear hats protecting them from an environment that we guess is very sunny.

The mother, leaning forward on the cradle, adjusts the tulle protecting the baby, the little girl looks at her mother, her left hand raised to her mouth. A vertical wooden lattice with diamond-shaped reinforcement structures the entire right height of the canvas.

Sunny patches of light yellow-green illuminate the intimacy of the scene: first on the lawn at the back of the canvas in perspective towards an undergrowth with a very abstract pictorial treatment, then on the upper chest of the mother of the family in contrast with her barely sketched face in the shade of a large straw hat and finally at the foot of the cradle.

The little girl looks at her mother who is looking at her baby. Scene of a happy intimate in harmony with his environment.
