Exhibition on the staircase of the Comédie Française during the first half of the year of the portrait of the actress Denise Gence, who became the 425th member of this theatre in 1958, painted by Germaine Lacaze in 1965 in the role of the Duègne de Ruy Blas, along with other graphic works in tribute to the actresses of this theatre.

Particular exhibition “Paris in the work of Germaine Lacaze (1908-1994)” of a hundred works (oils on canvas, engravings, drawings, gouaches) centred on the theme of Paris at the town hall of the 5th district of Paris, completed with photographs of the artist, taken by her childhood friend the photographer Albert Séeberger (1914-1999).

Publication of a book entitled “Paris dans l’oeuvre de Germaine Lacaze (1908-1994)” with a preface by Florence Berthout, mayor of the 5th district of Paris, a text by the historian and art critic Lydia Harambourg and comments by Michel Le Bitoux, and Michèle, Jean-Louis and Emmanuel Séeberger.

A commemorative plaque was placed on the house in Villeneuve-le-Comte (Seine-et-Marne) where Germaine Lacaze’s studio was located on 16 May, under the chairmanship of Daniel Chevalier, mayor of Villeneuve-le-Comte, and his municipal council, in the presence of the artist’s family and friends

Donation of the painting “14 July in Villeneuve-le-Comte” to the Town Hall of Villeneuve-le-Comte by Paulette Le Bitoux, née Lacaze, first cousin of the artist.

2011

Donation in October of the portrait of Denise Gence as a duègne to the Comédie Française following the death of the actress on 28 September 2011, by Paulette Le Bitoux, née Lacaze, first cousin of the artist.

The portraits “La duègne, portrait de Denise Gence, sociétaire de la Comédie Française” and “Harpagon, portrait de Georges Chamarat, sociétaire de la Comédie Française” are on display on the Samson floor of the Comédie Française in Paris.

Publication of the “Dictionnaire de l’Union des Femmes Peintres et Sculpteurs – Répertoire des artistes et liste de leurs œuvres 1882 – 1965”, published by Editions l’Echelle de Jacob with the list of works exhibited at the eponymous Salon by Germaine Lacaze from 1947 to 1962.

Tribute to Germaine Lacaze at the château de Ferrières during the 3rd exhibition of the Communauté de Communes La Brie Boisée, grouping together the communes of Favières, Ferrières-en-Brie, Pontcarré, Villeneuve-le-Comte and Villeneuve-Saint-Denis, presided by Mireille Munch, mayor of Ferrières-en-Brie.

At the Galerie des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, presentation of the 20th century collections, including Germaine Lacaze’s “Portrait of the artist’s mother”.

In a city where it has long been regretted that modern art does not find its place between the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Musée d’Art Contemporain, this exhibition finally allows us to shorten the history between the innovations of the beginning of the century and the 1950s and 60s.

A room devoted to figurative art features works by Valloton, Picasso, Dufy and Kokoschaka; an abstract room focuses on Gardair and Bissière, other painters from the region, as well as lesser-known names such as Germaine Lacaze and Roger Lambet Loubère, and more recent works such as those by Alenchinsky.
