A very colourful vision of three palaces on the Grand Canal in Venice, including the Palazzo Dario on the right, under a dark blue and mauve sky at the end of the day. Each of the façades gives its colour to the water, thus structuring the canvas in three large vertical bands of dominant colour, from left to right, ochre, pink and blue.
Barely sketched gondolas at the foot of the palaces create a horizontal black ribbon between the façades and the water of the canal.
The palaces seem to sail on a large gondola made up of black gondolas grouped together at the foot of the water porches. In the twilight, the artist sees the façades moving and pressing against each other.
Visual mirages of the water games and colours that seduced the artist from her first visit to Venice in 1968 and which she visited regularly until 1993.
