Sketch of a Parisian café scene of four men and a woman sitting down in front of a drink or a newspaper. The trilby hats, the overcoats and the woman’s hat date the scene back to the thirties.
At this time Germaine Lacaze was working with Othon Friesz and continued to follow Lucien Simon’s advice to sketch scenes from life.
The caricatures of the faces, the positions of the drinkers and the stooped attitudes convey the human solitudes that came to meet in this world of cafés so characteristic of Parisian life.
